Product Description

The CIX700 Wire I/O to Protocol Converter offers exceptional reliability, expandability, versatility, and performance for industrial automation. Unlike traditional I/O-to-protocol devices, the CIX700 is protocol-agnostic, enabling seamless conversion of analog and digital signals across multiple industrial networks.

Supporting Modbus RTU, Modbus/TCP, MQTT, and EtherNet/IP, the CIX700 stands out as a flexible bridge for SCADA and PLC applications. This versatility ensures easy integration into both new and legacy systems, allowing users to connect field devices, sensors, and controllers without being locked into a single vendor or protocol.

The CIX700 includes 16 onboard I/Os and a comprehensive set of interfaces — Ethernet, RS232/RS485, dual USB 2.0, and Wi-Fi (2.4/5.8 GHz) — making it adaptable to a wide range of industrial environments.

For projects requiring larger I/O capacity, the CIX700 can be expanded with up to seven CIX007 Wire I/O Extenders via RS485 at 115 kbps using Modbus RTU. Each extender adds 32 additional I/O channels:

    • 8 Analog Inputs (4–20 mA / 0–10 VDC)
    • 8 Analog Outputs (4–20 mA / 0–10 VDC)
    • 8 Digital Inputs
    • 4 Digital Outputs
    • 4 Relay Outputs (Isolated/Dry Contact)

This expansion provides a maximum of 240 total I/O points (16 on the CIX700 + 224 from CIX007 modules) that can be transported to a PLC or SCADA system.

A unique benefit of the CIX700 system is that the CIX007 can also operate independently in Modbus RTU environments. By simply configuring the Modbus address via dip switch, users can deploy the CIX007 on its own to achieve cost-effective expansion where protocol conversion is not required. Beyond its technical flexibility, the CIX700 also delivers a cost advantage.
