Multi-Port, Multi-Path Communications

The Data-Linc Group CCS9000 Comprehensive Communication System (CCS) is a multi-port, multi-path data communication system that provides monitoring, troubleshooting and programming of remote data tracking and controller devices from one or more central locations, 24- hours a day.

Communications can be established over virtually any communication medium or combination of paths— Telco dial-up and leased lines, private wire and wireless. Any central location with a computer can communicate with any remote device through the serial data port at any distant location using the CCS9000.

CCS9000 modems are designed for optimal compatibility and connectivity. Any remote device— wire and wireless— with an asynchronous serial port can communicate to a Master computer through the CCS9000. Each of the CCS Remote modem data switches have four, address selectable DB9, RS232 ports. Port splitter cables can be used to connect to multiple devices that are addressable through their own software. Multi-vendor remote devices can be connected to the CCS9000 single modem/multi-port smart switch. Once the connection is established, the system is transparent to the vendor software.

Making the Connection

The CCS9000 utilizes an addressable Remote modem/ multi-port smart switch and a Master computer running Data-Linc Group's Traffic Connections TM software designed for traffic management. Traffic Connections is a Windows®-based software program that provides destination selection and connection commands for the CCS9000 hardware. Remote modem/switch types and location port connections are entered into the Traffic Connections database. When a communication session with a specific remote device is needed, the location and designated port of the device is selected from the traffic control software menu. The software allows the command center to monitor and control that device or switch with the click of a mouse to another device.
